GENRE:
Old Klezmer wedding music. Jewish folk music. Improvised Jewish music from Eastern Europe. The musicians interpret traditional pieces from the interwar and pre-war periods as well as compose new works. Their repertoire is always based on musicological and sociological studies.

Favela forest funk. Brazilian carimbó and brega rhythms fused with ElectroFunkDub beats, bolero roots ska, hip-hop, afro-beat and Amazon guitar to produce a sound that explodes out of the speakers like a rat-a-tat of gunfire and pounds with rhythm as energising as an intravenous shot of Guaraná. Lyrics denounce corruption, violence and complacence. From Belém, in the mouth of the Amazon.

Traditional Gaelic singer. Rooted in the Irish language song tradition (also know as sean nós – the least understood, most complex part of Irish traditional music).

MORE ABOUT:
Lorcán Mac Mathúna is a Gaelic singer from Ireland. He sings in the Gaelic language in a style which could be described as similar in style to that of Iarla O Lionaird. His music, coming mainly from a minority language, would broadly be categorised in the ethnic or world music category. It is Irish Roots music, deep, dark, and soulful, which is not the same thing as stage traditional Irish.
